Default Protecting the Wood

Does anybody have a good product or experience with how to maintain the wood steering wheel and other interior wood?

I'd like to start out correctly rather than put something on and find out it is not good for protecting and preserving the wood. I called Lexus and at first they didn't know then later the person said use something like Pledge. I've also heard don't put anything on it. Any help would be appreciated.

for what it's worth, i use wax.

i just clean with a damp rag. dry it, and wax it! little slippery cuz it feels smooth like butter, so be careful.

ligflava's got it right Mike, because the wood in your car has a clear finish that's very similar to the clear paint on your car, so you can treat it in much the same way. Wax or a polymer sealant work fine.
