Default Crap on rims?

I have some dirt on my rims that i can't wash off. What do you guys suggest? Is claybaring the lip bad in any way? I'm scared to take off the polish from the lip.

Have you tried an all-metal polish? like this;

That would be your best bet I think. You can clay it, it won't hurt the polished surface, as long as you don't have a lot of grit on the wheel when you do it. Just wash the wheel down and rinse, then try clay with some car wash shampoo in a bucket.

Are they painted / clearcoated with a polished lip? Or fully polished wheels?

If it's all metal and no paint, using an all -metal polish ( Nev'R Dull etc.) as I suggested should remove a good deal of the etching. If it's painted, you can use car paint polishes and compounds (3M fine-cut rubbing compound etc.)

That's the best advice I can give you.
