I just got a new set of black pearl emblems for my ES300, and I must say, I'm quite worried after reading all the warnings they came with. The package recommened no wax and no brush carwashes. If I cannot wax these emblems, how should they be protected?

I never had a problem with the BP emblems in my prior '96 ES Coach Edition. They never looked faded or chipped through all the years, and I would sometimes spray a little detailer on the emblems to maintain their shine. That might be the safest way to protect your emblems. Wax would leave a white residue on the outline of the emblems, which won't look good on the car. Be careful not to get tree sap on the emblems, it is NOT fun to clean that stuff out

Great choice on the Black Pearl, they really look sharp!
I have not had any problems with mine. I use Zaino's and just waxed over them, the great thing about Zaino's is it does not leave any residue. I also use Z6 after I wash. When I apply it I also do the emblems, the whole SUV really shines and the emblems look great. I use 100% cotton towels and have never had any scratches.
