Default cleaning beige interior

I have the sand or beige interior in my 97 es300. I purchased it about 2 weeks ago and it needs some cleanup. What is the best way to cleanup some scuff marks on the vinyl door. Should I use vinylex or do i need to get it profesionally cleaned?

Thanks!

Before going to a professional I'd first try Meguiar's #39 Heavy Duty Vinyl Cleaner followed by #40 Vinyl & Rubber Cleaner/Conditioner

#39 is the best vinyl cleaner I've ever used and I've been detailing cars for over 45 years.

#40 is a great conditioner as well. It is great for your dash as it delivers a nice matte finish and doesn't glare. It has UVA and UVB screens in it as well. Works very well on the outside trim as well. Just a great product.

FWIW, these product can be purchased as a kit here.

Vinylex has *some* cleaners in it, but they are rather weak, as that's not it's priority( protection is). jfelbab's advice will serve to better clean vinyl safely, since Meguiar's #39 is designed ONLY as a cleaner.

If the scuffs don't come off with that product ( or similar), get back with us and we'll go to plan B. I can think of things that have worked for me on really ingrained, stubborn scuffs and marks, but some are riskier in that you have to test first so as not to remove color from the panels. Always best to start off safe and see if that works. Good luck

Geez but I'm getting old. I reread my post and I can't believe I used the word "well" four times in a short paragraph. Sorry for the poor writing but the info is, well, valid.

Well (heheh) I only noticed it since you've pointed it out now.

Compared to some of the syntax I see on the internet car boards, you have little to worry about J. Cheers

I just bought a bottle of Einszett Plastic-Vinyl Cleaner (Plastik-Reinger) and had a go at some of the LS400 interior. Marks I couldn't get off with a mild soap/water wiped right off with this. As clean as I thought some of the other interior pieces were, wiping them turned the towell grayish. That fine grime that becomes embedded in the texturing...this stuff took it right out. At $6.95 I'm pleased.

YMMV
