1997 ES 300 - Seat covers? Rear bench?
Unfortunately, the leather in the front seats of my 1997 ES 300 is starting to show its age, especially on the driver seat. There is a small slit in the leather, on the left part of the bottom vinyl panel. On the left side panel, there's a slightly larger slit.
I went to a local uphostelry shop here in Phoenix and was quoted $175 to replace those two vinyl panels. I thought that was a little steep, so I said no. I don't really know what I should do, but here's what I've been thinking:
a) take clear tape and tape the slits shut and/or do one of the following:
b) get sheepskin covers
c) get covers from www.wetokole.net
d) get this 1998 black leather uphostelry set from eBay
The outside of my car is silver:
The interior is light gray and the dash is a darker gray. If I bought wetokole covers, I'm not sure if they'd still look OK, or what colors I should even get.
I like the black leather set, but it probably wouldn't look as good as something gray. Any ideas?
Also, I've been having a problem with the rear seat bench. I can't get the right bottom clip to go in (I don't know how/when it came out). I keep pushing it down in the little slot, but it doesn't snap in or fasten at all. I took a couple pictures; is anything missing or broken? Maybe I'm just not doing it right?

Since a large portion of your question refers to the existing condition of your leather seats, I'm going to move the thread to the Detailing forum, where one of the bright detailing people could help you out
