Question Help With Window Tint

My factory window tint is coming off and I have been planning on getting it replaced but they want to charge me an additional $100 just to take off the old tint. Im wondering if I can just pull off the old tint and save myself the money or is there a technique you have to use?

Ring any tint shop and ask them how you can take the tint off by yourself. IMHO you can simply peel it off but be careful with rear window.

It peels off though if it has been on there for ages, it will tear. I dunno if it is here, there is a lot of info on various techniques for removing tint. Searching or posting in the technical section under detailing should turn up something.

use a hair dryer or heat gun & it should come off easy. you might have to put a mask on as the smell is unpleasant.

just pull it off carefully and get some pure ammonia that will eat off any glue that may be left behind
