New 2005 ES 330 Tinting Question.
When I called Lexus in town (only one in town) they told me they don't tint Lexus Cars. Kinda snotty too.
So, I called around and found a couple of tinting places that will tint my car for between $160 and $250.
One place told me they don't tint the back window because it interferes with the Nav and Audio system.
Anyone here fully tint their car, back window included?

Welcome to CL and for your 1st post, wrong forum for that This will certainly be moved to the ES forum by one of the moderators.
To answer your question, I have tint on all 4 of my windows (35%) and the rear glass (20%) on my '01 ES. It was done by a professional for $160. Here's my tint thread.

I don't have nav, but a lot of folks in these forums (at least in the GS forums) have complained that metallic tinting will often intefere with the nav system. The problem is that the GPS antenna is under the rear shelf underneath the rear window. Also, apparently some tinting that doesn't appear metallic contains high levels of metallic pigmentation--high enough to interfere with GPS signal reception. If memory serves me right, some posters even recommended specific types or brands of tinting. One pricey brand is apparently pigmented with ceramics and won't interfere with GPS. That's the extent of my knowledge on this subject. Try searching for tint and GPS and see what pops up. Good luck.

DrDave, I have no problems playing the radio or operating the rear defroster with the tint. The tinting business who did my car is one of the highly regarded on my side of the state, so I'm very pleased with the quality of their work. Also, I have lifetime warranty for the tint should anything happen to it, such as bubbling, cracking or peeling of the tint.
