Just picked up a 2001 RX. The previous owner did not use a car seat mat under their car seat. This left the two corners of the leather pushed in. Is there any way to restore the normal surface of the leather?

We've got a detailing forum on CL, your post probably has the best chance of getting a good answer there

If I'm understanfing this correctly (and I'm not completely positive I am)...Not a lot you can do yourself unless you know how to remove the leather seating covers, so I'd recommend you take it to an upholstery shop. Things like that are easy for them and they usually don't charge much more than an hour or two labor just for the R& R and a little foam support..
For instance, a friend of mine has a '97 Corolla that needs to have some foam cushioning put in to re-support the driver's bottim cushion at the thigh area, which has flattened out really badly, the fabric is loose because of it. The local shop here quoted her $50 parts and labor.
Call or shop around.
I wish I knew a way to fix it other than removal of the leather, but usually once it's ( the cushioning underneath) deformed for so long it doesn't come back easily. Good luck.
