I'm having a Permaplate coating put on my SC430. This is being done by a detailer via the dealership from which I bought the car. After the coating, I am told I will never need to wax the car. Has anyone done this? Any comments?

I dont know about that....
I WOULD USE CAUTION!!!!!!!!!
You are about to put a reactive coating over an extreemly wonderful paint job. I have been a paint chemist for the largest US paint company and am very familar with industrial coatings.
I know this sounds nice now, but what if the permaplate compound is not as UV resistive as your paint. It will yellow and get dingy over time.
If I were you I would stick with a weekly summer wash, monthly min for winter - included underbody, then wax with a quality material (preferably with a fluropolymer wax).
Dont shortchange your car.

you input
933005spd,
Thanks for the input. I'll make sure I ask a lot of questions before proceeding. I called the dealership and they gave me references of people who have had it done.
