We (my wife) had a little accident and spilled nail polish remover on the top of the cup holder cover on our 98 GS400. It took the finish off in an area about the size of a nickel. Does anyone know how I can have this repaired (repainted) or am I stuck looking for a used cover or just biting the bullet and ordering one from Lexus if they can supply? Does anyone know how to get the cover off without removing the entire console? Appreciate the help.

I'm not sure how that cover comes off, I'm sure someone else here can tell you...but...you could use some of the Krylon paint for plastic (self-etching-no sanding necessary) and paint the whole console a satin black. If you were to spray just the cup cover, chances of it matching the rest are slim. That paint is custom made for plastic stuff, won't flake or peel etc.
Just my .02. Good luck.

Dan - Thanks for the help. I'm still trying to figure out how to remove the cover. I'll probably do as you suggest and paint the entire console.

Here's the link to that product line. It sprays quite nice and even. I just don't know if the black they offer will have the satin look or a gloss look. If you click on the color selection tab you'll see they offer a "black" and also a "gloss black " so I'll assume the former is a satin. May be a better alternative to replacing parts, and much cheaper.

I'll take a look at the Krylon Fusion paints and see if I can come up with something that works. I've still got to figure out how to remove the cover from the console. Anybody been through this? Thanks for the help.
