Using car washes in the winter
When the weather drops below 50 here in K.C., it makes it hard to wash the car by hand . And after driving for a few weeks in the mist and rain that's so prevalent here in the winter months, the "wands" at the carwashes aren't very effective, which leaves only the "suds brush". Having a black car that I recently spent days zaino-ing and buffing with swirl-mark-remover makes me hesitant to use this brush. Do you all know how safe this is to use on the finish of your cars? Do you know of any alternatives short of bringing a sponge and bucket to the carwash?

A touchless and brushless auto car wash would be one of the alternatives for the job. For all purposes for the winter season, I think it does a decent amount of work on the car, and most of these washes have the option of washing the undercarriage to rid of road salt and grime.

Avoid using the SUDs BRUSH during the winter months. The soft bristles actually get Frozen and can scratch your paint.
Finding a good TOUCHLESS car was will give you great peace of mind in the winter.

I understand how the brushless/touchless carwashes are the safest, but they never seem to remove the dirt. Maybe I'll search around for a good one. I wish I wasn't so picky about my car!!! Ah well. . .I know you're all the same way!

Find a local detailer that has the facilities to do hand washes indoors. If you have a garage then you could also do a hand wash inside using 2 warm buckets of water. One for the dirty water and one clean. Then hand dry and wax. Be sure to keep rinsing the mitt to keep it clean.
