any suggestions on how to make them shine? these are stock ones for an sc3 by the way. is it ok to use rubbing compound or will the abrasion cause the tip to corrode?
also i cant really figure out how to remove the tip so i can work on it. there's no bolt or anything holding it on

I just shined up my stock tip by applying mother metal polish.........I've been using Mothers polish for years now on my wheel lips...If I would have known earlier....
I was detailing my car the other day when I realized...I have metal polish....anyway, works great...bling bling

Check out their "polishing strips". You use them as you would shine a shoe. Originally engineered for motorcycle parts, they work great on exhaust tips too. I was given some years ago and would highly recommend them.

When I first got my GS the stock tips were horrible looking. I got some pretreated S.O.S pads and that are extra fine and sprayed them with windex. I them very gently rubbed the exhaust and it made them look brand new!! The guy I bought it from could not believe it, he had tried numerous times to get them to shine and I got it done in 5-10 minutes. I am not sure if I would try these with nice chrome tips BUT works great with stock tips.
