Default Tire Dressing? GS

Well I drove the car last night all cleaned up and tires shinnig looked pretty good. Woke up this morning and the dressing had gotton all over the sides of the car... I didn't put that much on but I'm using a silicone brand called WET. So today i went and bought some Teflon Tire Shine by Dupont. They claim that it won't come off the tires and there's no petroleum in it.. Is this good stuff? I will try it on the next car wash.. Thanks Tony

I don't know much about that product Tony, but make sure you get that old dressing sling off the car ASAP. It's not uncommon for the carbon black in tires to combine with the tire dressing and cause what's called "photo spotting" of the paint from the sling off. It actually discolors the paint right through to the basecoat. Sometimes there's not a thing you can do outside of a repaint to remove it. You're probably fine, but I just wanted to warn you and others, it doesn't always happen, but it CAN happen.

Chemical reaction from a chemical soup. Hopefully the new product will work for you as advertised. Good luck.

I use black magic tire wet and no problems at all. This is the first one that doesnt sling off. I use one of the pads they sell to put it on and it does a good job of spreading it evenly over the whole tire

I have used "Wet" before on my wife's old Explorer and had the same problems, I did not like it at all! Try this:

Every Zaino product I have tried has been outstanding!! They really make great products that do what they say they will. I have been using Z16 for about 6 months and it is great! It does not sling off and looks good!
