Is it worth $200 for dealer detailing?
My Question is, is it Worth $200 bucks for the dealer to do int, and exteiror detailing. I use to spend 5 to 6 hours doing both inside, and outside, but now i don't have time to spare with the wife, and kids on my day off. I just want to know because if it isn't worth the money then i'll just have to do it myself. Thanks

That's a difficult question for anyone here to answer unless they've used that dealer before. They may do exceptional work, and they might do so-so work, and in rare cases it's possible to pay that much for shoddy work. Unfortunately, just because it's a Lexus dealer, it doesn't guarantee they will do flawless work, or provide you with results that will last.
If you could swing by there and see them in action, or view a just-completed detail they've done, it would be much easier to judge. You shouldn't be afraid to ask what they use to polish, protect etc. They should provide answers without uncertainty.
The price is in the ballpark, it will depend on just what they do and how they do it, best of luck.

I agree w/ Dan. I know our dealer in Hawaii puts the cars through a car wash machine. Have you considered detailing companies (even mobile ones).
I actually found one that uses Zaino. They wash, claybar, wash, then 3 coats of Zaino for 85bucks! I just give them 100. I know they use the claybar because I ran my hands down the car and felt the bumps before dropping it off. They were gone when I got it back. Very nice job for less than 100 bucks.
So, if its an option for you, I'd consider detailing companies that specialize in high-performance/luxury car detailing.

200 bucks is a lot of money to me so i'm gonna say, no it's not worth it. Also I've found some dealers AND independant detailers who do good work for half of that amount. Look around, ask your friends, neighbors, coworkers and relatives where they go.

Why not get the kids involved if they are old enough? They can at least hose the car down and vaccum interior, etc. Make it a family fun project.... until they turn 16 and realize that they've been duped into hard labor all these years.
