Gents,
Some of you may SCREAM bloody foolishness on this but I thought I would share it anyway.

Black cars and chip marks are horrible. Black cars and chip marks filled with white wax are even worse! In my experience, I suck with the proper application of touch up paint. I apply it too thick, I apply it too thin, I smear it, etc. - to say the least, my results never match my expectation!

Here's a solution I've been using that seems to work for me...

I use a "Sharpie" Black, fine point, permanent, marker. This allows me all the accuracy I need and none of the goopy mess asociated with touch-up paint.

It works like a champ. I got the idea at a concours event.

Good Luck,
Eric

I used a sharpie to cover up some of the scratches I got on my home sub, its black, and the black ink covers it up good enough for me....although I don't think I would actually use it on a car...

When I had my bumpers painted the body shop guy told me the same thing. He gave me both Lexus black and grey paint and said use a toothpick for fine scratches and a paper match for larger scratches. He said I could do it myself or take it to the guy that details my car (his ex business associate) and have him do it prior to waxing.
