I can tell you exactly what happened, after seeing those pics;

You took the color dye right off the dash . Sometimes the manufacturers spray dye the parts, because they're molded in one universal color and they are then painted/dyed with the various color combinations that Lexus uses in their interiors (gray, tan, black etc.).

That's the obvious part, however, I can't tell you why it happened, because that Meguiar's product should NOT have anything so harsh in it that would cause it to strip off the dye on material like that.

Either the rag had some kind of solvent resiude on it, OR...longshot, the dash was at one time redyed (poorly) by a dealership or owner. It may not have been prepped correctly and thus just about anything with a cleaning ability in it would remove it.

Can happen with leather seats, door panels etc. They are generally spayed and do not have color molded all the way through. That's why solvents should never be used on plastic/vinyl or leather to remove stains etc. You'll remove the stain, and the dye as well.

Glad you got it fixed.
