303 Aerospace Protectant on leather seats

I put it on my black leather seats and interior as a precaution for the hot Alabama sun. I could not really tell you if it is making any difference because I have not had the car that long but it is nice to know I have some protection as well as what my leather cleaner/treatment provides. It drys well and does not leave the finish greasy which is nice.

If you don't use a leather cleaner/conditioner it's a fine idea. If you do, it's probably a little redundant. Most cleaner/conditioners already have UV protection. My only concern with using 303 on leather would be that it can sometimes streak, which will look a little funny. If you wipe it off right away it should be ok, though.

I use 303 on my leather seats. Remember, our seats are treated so its not like the 303 is going on pure leather like a pair of work boots.
I use Tanners leather oil and 303. I alternate the two. I also use 303 on my leather dress shoes I wear to work. They too are a treated leather. It seems to work well.
303 is not a high gloss look. It gives a more natural, matte finish which I like. The stuff is amazing with about a billion uses.

303 will make the seats more pliable since it treats the clear coating.
You have to remember that leather conditioners aren't getting completely through to the leather itself since all (save for a very few semi-analine leathers in a handful of cars) of today's leathers are clear polyurethane coated. That coating is *supposedly* semi porous but it's there to keep sweat ( the salt in it is corrosive) and friction (your blue jeans as they move on and off the seats) as well as other contaminants off the leather itself, making the seats more durable.
Since leather conditioners contain ingredients that have a positive effect on vinyl too, traditionalconditioners will also soften the clear topcoat, which is ostensibly what is primarily happening when you apply one. It's not affecting the leather itself a whole lot, even though our seats "feel" softer. It's affecting the top layer for the most part.

Todays leather seats are spray coated with a clear coat on them. Thats why lexol and connly hide food leaves the leather sticky. I guess 303 would be ok....but why not use a leather cleaner and conditonr for todays leather? I like 1Z letherpfledge.(sp)
