Safe to tint Moon roof Moonroof?
I just got my RX300 tinted (35% metallic reflective) all around. However, I thought it would help to tint the moon roof also to reduce heat here in Sunny Arizona. However, the tint people said that tinting the moon roof would cause it to explode and refused to do it. Anyone ever hear of such a thing or does anyone have a tinted moonroof in a hot climate without experiencing any problems?

if anything, it would help it from "exploding". the glass would be absorbing less heat, causing less expansion. do you guys agree with me on this?
to give you an example, put a casserole dish in the oven @ 500 degrees for an hour and see what happens.

I heard about this. But I still dont know the truth behind it or why some moonroofs/sunroofs shatter. People with my model year Maxima dont have moonroofs, we have sunroofs(no factory tint), so some would go and get it tinted to be turned away as well because the tinters would say the glass would shatter. I dont know the cause, but some have tinted there's without problem and others werent so lucky. It actually did shatter on them. I would check out a few more tint shops and see what they say. And find out the reason why this happens.
