Default Cleaning inside wheel wells of RX400h?

Any tips on cleaning inside the wheel wells on the RX330/400h? Lexus uses this black fabric-like material which really holds onto things like dirt and pine needles. I've tried brushes, sponges, and water blasts, but often resort to picking the remaining debris out with my fingers. Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Why didn't Lexus just use a plastic liner in those wheel wells?

I think it has to do with sound issues. I think the felt ilke stuff may be quieter...I use ArmorAll Detailer's Advantage foam spray for my wheel wells but I have not really found a great product for wells yet.

Thanks. I look into the ArmorAll product. Anybody else found any clever ways to clean this "fabric" wheel well liner?

I just use a water hose to clean out my wheel wells, it seems to work pretty good.

The problem I have is that things like pine tree needles stick in the fabric and don't wash away with a hose blast. I wind up having to pick them out one by one.
