Budget Garage Cabinets and My Product Collection
I found a great set of shelves at Ikea which I assembled over lunch today. They are called Magiker shelves and are meant to be indoor but they have several nice features for a garage...they are raised on adjustable feet, available in cherry finish, are 15.75" deep, and are quite durable and sturdy. Each of the 3 units costs just $60 plus another $30 for each pair of doors. In total I got a lot of quality space for under $200 and I think it looks good also. I decided against white/birch since I think darker colors will hides spills & stains better. For another $100 you can add 6 drawers into the cabinets which I may do later for detailing tools and brushes...
Here are some shots, plus my newly freed up workbench with microfiber:

I wanted to do three sets of doors but Ikea had only one set in stock.
A bit of work but I am pleased how it all turned out.

Yikes!!!! What a collection! But you know, that's exactly why I stopped frequenting autopia. I had to buy every product discussed there. So, in a sobering moment I asked myself: "I have two cars, a family, a full time job, and about 30 more years of life. On the other hand, I have over 100 MF towels, a cornucopia of polishes, sealants, waxes , glazes and QDs, plus a PC, a circular polisher, a galaxy of foam pads for said polishers, a hot water carpet extractor and all the chemicals that it uses. How and when on earth will I use up all this stuff?" And so I removed autopia from my bookmarks and resolved to use what's on hand. I'm proud to say that I've been autopia-free for a few months, and have barely put a dent on my detailing supplies. But after seeing your collection....

I have a feeling he, like me, uses his products on other peoples cars too. Then again it might be for one vehicle
Those cabinets are nice - it's a shame they don't have a locking mechanism, if they did I'd like something very similar.
P.S send me some stoners invisible glass, I'm out. :P

Nice garage, I'm looking to add tall storage bins for all of my car care, sons sports equipment, sons gas cars, and tools. I have way too much clutter in my garage.

I think you have more auto detailing products than my local AutoZone. Nice work. Mine is just a bunch of stacked milk and paper cartons. Cost me $0.
Care to show us your medicine cabinet? Lots of little blue pills maybe?

Jelly Bean -- I hear ya! I had to stop visiting the site after I found I was obsessing a bit too much... now, I just use what I had purchased (Klasse, Porter, various 3M and Meguiars products).
However, I realized that I need to buy some new replacement pads for the PC (as well as pick up some ScratchX, Plastx, and a new claybar). Any recos on where to get the pads, other than autopia or properautocare?

appointment?
To help you get rid of some of those products and to put them to good use, what time should we schedule my detail appointment? Lol! The set up looks sweet! You must have spent a grip on supplies alone! -wringo

Thanks for the compliments. I do detail other people's cars when I have the chance especially when they are quality. I just do it for fun and usually get a free meal as thanks.
I've probably spent a few thousand dollars the past few years on everything and I won some giveaway contests from AutoGeek and others.
