Hello All. I did a search for cleaning tips for the shiny black door/window trim located at the B-Pillar for the 2006 GS300 (not sure if this trim element is common for other model year GS's). It is very shiny and has a nice glossy look to it and I don't want to clean it in a manner that causes find scratches that will require a lot of effort to remove later on. This is the area of the door where it seems natural to close the door with when exiting the car and gets a lot of finger prints and smudges from that. Any recommendations on how to clean that area without causing scratching? And if the fine scratching does develop, how to effectively remove them. Would removing those fine lines be similar to removing the swirl marks on the paint except with different cleaning/polishing products?
I appreciate any feedback. As you can probably tell, I am not very experienced in the fine arts of detailing a vehicle. My previous experience is limited to a basic wash, wax and apply tire dressing. I am just learning about claying and other detailing methods.
Thanks in advance for your help.
