Default dashboard and door panels

i dunno if the same material on the new IS dashboards and door panels are used in the rest of the lexus lineup. but, what do you guys use to clean those parts? i have vinylex left from my last car and it worked perfect. is this something you would use on the lexus stuff too?

Default Great Question!

I've just been wiping mine down with a damp MF cloth, so I'll be reading along for the answer to your question with you.

Don't laugh but here is what I was thinking of doing... I was going to wax the wood with my car wax. All the other cars I've had w/ wood always had a dull matte finish and needed no attention. The Lexus is a real high gloss shine (that I like!). I figure if I waxed it, it wouldn't matter what I washed it with. Hey, I asked you not to laugh

Vinilex is fine. Also try Meguiar's Quick *Interior* Detailer. Some say that it cleans and protects, but I think it's just scented water with a little alcohol mixed in. Anyways, it leaves a wonderful clean scent., and that's why I use it. Try it out. It's less than $5.

TripleL: I don't think anyone's going to laugh for waxing your woodwork. I do it occasionally, and bet that most CL members do too.

Meguiar's Quick Interior Detailer is a great product. It leaves a nice matte finish and has slight UV protection. I usually clean the interior with the Meg's and protect it with 303 Aerospace Protectant, which has stronger UV protection.

Thanks JellyBean, I'm definitely going to try waxing it now, much appreciated.

And I'm going to try that Meguiars stuff on the interior that you both mentioned.

Leechiro, thank you for asking your question

I use 303 Aerospace on it and it does a great job.

I use a 50/50 mix of simple green and water. I use a scottbrite microfiber cleaning rag and go over everything that isn't leather. I then go over it with Meguiars Hyper Dressing, also a 50/50 mix for a nice matte finish that lasts for weeks.
