Clear Bra Peeled!
This weekend I detailed the exterior and I noticed some gunk along the perimeter of the film. I took some Eagle One QD and a Q-tip and proceeded with cleaning the gunk. I didn't notice anything peeling. There were a couple of bubbles that I assumed would resolve itself in curing the same way some similar bubbles dissappear when you get window tint.
The next day, it rained really hard and I noticed that a couple of the edges had water under them that reached the bubbles. That affected the hood piece and the two fender pieces. Some dust had gotten under there so I peeled those pieces off. The film came off rather easily and didn't leave any sitcky residue. I did remove it while it was raining, so I guess that helped. When the film dried out, it was sticky again.
Any ideas? The installer is going to replace under their life-time warranty. I don't think the QD with the Q-tip was the cause. Perhaps those bubbles were the source of the peel? Dunno.
