scratch removal from wood

You can use the same rubbing compound & polishes that you would on the paint, since the clearcoat on the wood (if it IS real wood) is polyurethane.
It's thin though, so you can't use anything overly aggressive without eventually cutting through the coating. If you can feel the scratches with your fingernail, you likely won't be able to remove them. Lighter scratching should come out with some ScratchX or rubbing compound followed by a fine polish.
