By synthetic wax do you mean sealants or actual synthetic waxes?

I layer sealants and carnaubas all the time. Why? Sealants typically have longer durabilty, and I personally prefer the warm glow of a carnuaba wax. So I'll put down a couple layers of EX-P or Z2 or FMJ, then top it with Nattys Blue, OCW, Clearkote Carnauba, etc...

I used to be Zaino fan but recently switched over to Menzerna product line. So far seems to have just as good as shine as Zaino but with substantially less work. Anyways on my Black IS250...
1) I washed it of course
2) Didn't use a clay bar as it was only a week old
3) Polished it with Menzerna Polish II
4) After taking the Polish off applied Menzerna FMJ... basically a synthetic sealant much like Zaino
5) Lastly applied PS21 Caranuba Wax

Seemed to give it an extra glow and depth to the black paint. Can't remember which website recommended this technique. I'll have to dig it up for you though. Anyways, I'll post some pics as soon as I can figure out how to decrease the size of my pictures as they are too large to upload.

Hope this helps!

Thanks guys.....sealants for durability and natural for the depth/glow/clarity.

After sealing the car, how long before applying the natural wax?

You can apply the natural wax immediately after you wipe off your sealant.

And you might find you like the look of sealants and don't want to top it. Lots of people do. I just like that wax-glow. Also remember that once you have a wax on you can't put another sealant over it, but you can layer other waxes.

A great combination is Poorboys sealant followed by their natural wax. Their sealant is designed for layering wax over it for added protection and beauty.
