Actually I find that scratches are less obvious on black single stage than they are on clear coated black. On CC the scratches look white as they pick up the light around the scratch.

If I were able to choose I'd have to say I like the appearance of single stage over clear coated on dark solid colors.

202 Black Onyx has a small hint of metallic flake in it. A good paint shop would consider this 2 stage as you apply the black base and apply a clear on top.
