Default mark on dashboard

what's the best way to repair this? this mark comes from something rubbing up against the surface really hard, abrasive to the dash and discolouring it; the surface is blemished. can this be fixed? should i just replace the glove box door? any ideas or suggestions would be helpful, thanks.

You can clean it using a damp towel to get the dirt and dust out of it, then use a restorer for interior, plastic and trim, but in most cases this only covers the damage a little bit.

Ken,

I would try a few things:

1. Cleaning it first with Megs Quick Interior detailer or 1Z Cockpit Premium and a plush microfiber.
2. Trying a mix of Zaino Z-16 and Z-10 to darken it up. ArmorAll might help as well.
3. Most extreme, maybe trying Black Again or some black die on a Qtip.

Ken, is the plastic itself scarred? If so, no cleaner can really "fix" it. It may be able to hide it a bit as you work down the material.

Thanks for the tips, yes the surface is damaged so the best I can probably hope for is to "make it look better."

Best thing might be to order a new one. Something minor like that my local service rep would help me install for free...

they heat up the vinyl and they add some kind of resin. they have a kit that presses onto the resin so match the grain pattern. then they respray to match. thats it.

That's weird - I have almost exactly the same mark... and it's actually that same greenish tinge. Glad to find the information! I'm not sure I trust the repair ability of local people to fix it - anyone know the best way to get a new glove box door? Can you just ask sewell to order it?
