Default Removing Epoxy

Any suggestions to remove epoxy? I used that to glue down my roof spoiler....obviously I want to remove without damaging the spoiler and paint job.

Any ideas? Paint Thinner? Acetone?

Thanks!!

Pete

I remember seeing a tube of epoxy remover at Home Depot once, but I just passed by it because I didn't need it. It might be worth while to check there.

I know for sure that Acetone will soften/dissolve the epoxy. However, it is too aggressive a solvent to use on a paint job. It would definitely damage the clearcoat/ paint.

Something you might try is AFTA which is a milder solvent. It actually is a stain remover and would help remove adhesive residue. It will not damage the paint, it would just remove any wax. Epoxy is tough to get off... it might take a bit of time to soften it with AFTA. I've used on paint plenty of times (inlcuding my 02 es300). It's in a white can with a blue logo (looks like an AT&T logo). It's good stuff in any case and might just do the job.
