Will a vinegar bath remove all of my wax?

I can't answer that directly, but I do know that claybar'ing the car will take off the wax. Not to mention, you're getting rid of contaminations while you're at it

Just use any dish detergent. The wax will come right off.

Vinegar is pretty acidic and will remove most carnauba products. It hardly touches some polymer sealants however. I've used vinegar to remove some dried on mineral deposits on a black Toyota Highlander. The Highlander had been waxed with NXT Tech Wax and the vinegar did not remove it. Neither would Dawn. I finally used #80 to get the sealant completely removed.

If you are about to detail and want to be sure you have completely removed the previous layer of wax, I'd suggest clay and a paint cleaner.

Any recommendations for paint cleaners?

Meguiars #83 Dual-Action Cleaner/Polish.

Though you'd want a buffer to get the most out of it.

Just use clay bar. It's faster and safer than using abrasive product if you're not use to it.

I use Meguiar's #80 with a PC. Another good paint cleaner that is readily available is Meguiar's Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner. This is mostly a chemical cleaner, made for either hand or machine application and is very gentle on your paint.

Thanks, Jim. If you were doing a thorough detail you would clay then use a paint cleaner, right?

Yes, that's the proper order.
