how often should I wash my car?
I've had the 2006 IS350 for a month, and I park my car in the drive way. The problem is that the car gets dusted very easily. I hand wash it once a week. Is that a little too much?

It should be okay, some people here wash it once a week. I would recommend using Quick Detailer if its just dust that accumulates on the car on the driveway. Sometimes the Quick Detailer can make the same results as a wash if its only dust on it. Some people like using dusters, like the California Duster or the OXO Duster, some dislike it because there's a chance it can scratch paint by moving the dust around.
I only wash mine if I see dirt or anything dirty visible on it, or at least try to wash it twice a month or so. Otherwise, simple Quick Detailing works fine as well.

I also wash my car once a week. I think my neighbors think that I am crazy because they see me out there very Sunday washing my car and to them, it probably looks quite clean since silver hides the dirt so well. But from up close, you can tell that the car is dirty. As long as you use good quality wash items, you should be ok. Personally, I use a sheepskin wash mitt and waffle weave MF towels to dry. I use the two bucket system and a separate wash mitt for the lower/underside portions as they tend to have much more grime and dirt on those areas.

Depends on the kind of wax you use, Carnauba wax evaporates in about 4-6 weeks, do reapplying it every 4-6 weeks is good. Synthetic wax lasts much longer, anywhere from 3-6 months. If I were you, I'd just apply one layer of wax every 2-3 months, depending on preference, and clay 2-3 times a year.

I would love to wash my car every week, but don't have the time. So it's ever other week.
My girlfriend thinks that's too often and I'm crazy....if she only knew.....

I own a 00 GS Silver and the previous owner took very good care of the car having it profesionally detailed once a month. I honestly prefer to do it myself, I wash and wax (polish) my car every Friday and dust it and spray detail every Wednesday. I Zaino it every 6 months
