Default Question about Double Stickyback

So I want to remove my headlight eyelids, what do you guys think the best way to get them off (double back sticky taped on), I think I just want to pull real hard on it but kinda dont want to mess up the lids and dont really want to use a heatgun. The tape seams very very strong? Any suggestions? And is it O.K to use Goo Gone on the residue left over which will be partially on the chrom lip on the housing and the plastic also. Thanks.

If you don't heat them up you'll tear the tape up pretty much and leave remnants.

Either way, you can safely use Goo Gone to remove the excess afterward. Best of luck.

Be careful using goo gone or goof off on plastics, sometimes it may leave it with a haze that doesn't come off.

You should indeed always be careful. But Goo Gone is citrus based and won't harm headlight lens'

Goof Off is solvent based, which can be a whole other story on *some* plastics ( though it should also be ok on Lexan headlamps).

Never hurts to test first though, with anything.

I used Goof Off on my headlight lenses once, completely fouled them up! I know another member had a similar experience. I had to wetsand the lens to remove the haze that the Goo Gone left.

lol, yes, I'm confused too!

I'm betting he used Goof Off, which had a reaction.

btw
i recommend everyone use the Command adhesive tape by 3M
those can be removed easily but just pulling on a tab
and they are very strong and hold up well in exterior environment
