Default Is your headlights hazy?

I know a lot of GS headlights out there have that nasty yellow hazy stuff on it. A lot of people have used the wetsanding method to clear up their headlights. I use to do it myself, but it would take forever to get the headlights cleaned up. Plus the idea of putting visible scratch marks on the car isn't really too catchy.

I'm sure many here have seen this or done it before, but use a rotary plus a good pad to take those jobs where more power might be needed. Here is an example of my mom's car. The Gen 3 camry are known to have yellow headlights after years. lol. It took me a good 45 seconds to do each headlight. Yes you saw that right...45 seconds.

The material:

The nasty:

The work (done on one side):

^^ For those who can't see well, i polished the left side of the passenger headlight to compare with the right side of the same headlight that's unpolished.

Finished:

Semi-DIY

1.Basically, lubricate the pad by misting it with water. Dont put to much water because you dont want to soak it up.
2.Put some polish on the headilght and spread it around with your finger because you do not want the rotary to sling the polish off the car.
3. Select the slowest speed on your rotary and start running the rotary everywhere until you can see the headlights looking good.
4. wipe dry

I know not everyone has a rotary and some people have porter cables. You can substitute the rotary for the PC and it'll work just fine, except it'll take a bit longer (probably a good 5 minutes at speed 3 or so).

btw, i used the most aggressive foam pad I have. you're working on plastic so you dont have to worry about creating swirls. lol. Or you can just use your hand (and more polish) and spend an hour on head headlight to get it perfect if they're this bad

I will confirm if this method works on glass by tomorrow, though im' pretty sure it'll work just as fine.

Nice! I tried using that on this camry, but for some reason, it takes forever. I had to bust out the rotary just because Which reminds me. I need to rack up on my supply of meguiars plastix. I find that it works well on my computer monitor
