Default How to remove water spots and stains from chrome lips?

hey guys, i have a set of wheels with chrome lips and have some stains and waterspots on them and i cant seem to get them off the lip. i have tried turtle wax chrome polish as well as blue magic wheel polish. anybody knows on here what i should use to take those water spots and stains off the lips? ive tried searching "water spots on chrome lips" no luck. please help. thanks, cuong

I think some here have used claybar on the wheels themselves with some success.

The Mothers Powerball may also work (search for powerball - there are several threads).

I've had good luck on my HRE lips (polished, not chrome) with Mothers Billet cleaner

hey dave, would the clay bar leave scratches? any negatives about using this method? please let me know. thanks, cuong

Not to my knowledge, but I don't have any personal experience.

Clay bar is used on paint which would scratch similarly. It CAN leave scratches on paint if you don't appropriately lubricate the surface so the same thing I assume will happen to wheels. Need to make sure you get as much surface crap off of them as you can with a good soap and water washing, then make sure to lubricate appropriately

i think ima try the mothers powerball mini first wtih their polish. morris said that it does takes off the oxidation and water spots, so im gona give that a try first before the clay bar. thanks, dave

I've had a powerball for several months as well, I just haven't broken it out of the package to try it yet, lol.
