wow...that's gonna need some prep. Are you going to use a pc or a rotary? Post pics when you're done and good luck.

those swirl marks look terrible, cant wait to see the end result. I have been reading that people dont recommend dawn when washing the car, its too harsh or something. I use the P21S soap and it works great

Yikes, that paint is in bad condition. You're going to have to spend some serious time with the PC to get those swirls out, but the PC may not be powerful enough.

Zaino? Great stuff, but not for your car in its current condition. All Zaino will do is highlight those flaws. Good luck.

Hey, reporting some updates, today there were crazy thunderstorms in the Long Island area so I only had a window of 4 hours and it took about that long to apply 1 coat of polish to the whole car with the PC and it took away Almost all if not all of the swirls there are some slight scratches but hey you can't get em all, gonna z5/2/6/8 Tomorrow and I'll be done ~ The car looks so nice after just 1 coat of polish... Its like a mirroRRRR !!! Detailing @ home = Thumbs Up.

Edit : Ill get pics up whenever, tomorrows my brothers graduation party so I wont have time. SOON! I promiSE!

I'm surprised you removed swirling that deep with one pass. Are you using a polish with fillers, or a pure polish? If it has any fillers, the swirls might still be there. Swirls that bad would usually require at least a few very slow passes with the PC at moderate pressure, with a good polish that resists early breakdown. When I first saw those swirls, I thought you'd need a rotary to completely remove them.

Is Lexus clear pretty soft? I haven't needed to polish my IS350 yet.

Anwar, I've been having the same problems with these damn storms on LI, but it looks like today is finally going to be a nice day, so I think i'll finally get out and take care of my IS250!

Were you able to find a window of opportunity to finish working on those swirl marks? if so, can you post some pics so we can see the final product? If your process worked, i'm going to keep it in mind for the future should i ever need to really take care of mine or my gf's car.
