Default NAV screen cleaner

Stupid fingerprints all over the NAV. What's recommended for cleaning the
NAV screen? I want to use water on a paper towel, but that could smear the
fingerprints. Anything you've used thats good?

Thanks.

Cool

You can use eyeglasses or lens cleaner also - NO WINDEX!! The manual addresses this as well.

If you are fanatic about getting it clean, use Klearscreen. It's the only thing I've seen recommended by the OEMs for PDAs, laptops, and monitors. I've been using it for a few years on all my LCD/TFT screens with excellent results.

The car doesn't come with a cloth? My acura did... Small blue cloth, much better than the microfiber/eyeglass ones that just seem to spread the dust around, rather than pick it up... It was more of a "dry" cloth than a smooth one... I still have it, good cloth...

microfiber...takes out the prints and dust and everything with one wipe. Use it about once a week or so.

Stop by a Walmart optical department. They have a small spray bottle (about 3" tall) filled with their brand of eyeglass cleaner. Its about a buck ninety-nine, but they'll refill it for free from now on.

Next, in the same department, buy a pack of those ugly bright green microfiber cloths ... they're two to a package, and they cost a couple of bucks as I recall. The good thing about them is that they're about washcloth sized and they have a "loose" weave, which makes for good lint collection.

Then, spritz a little of the cleaner on the cloth and wipe your screen. Not only does it clean well, it somehow reduces static, so dust doesn't cling as much as before.

3M makes a small microfiber cloth for use in cleaning glasses -- they are sold at Walmart with the eye care stuff. I keep one in my car along with my sunglasses. It works great on the screen in a pinch. I also keep one in my camera bag to clean my camera lenses.

When I wash the car, I use a bit of Meguiar's Quik Interior Detailer on the whole inside, including the Nav screen on my Lincoln. It quickly removes fingerprints from the screen, as well as fingerprints from any interior chrome. Highly recommended.

I picked up a LCD cleaning kit at Staples. It included some travel wipes and a really small blue wiping towel. I keep the towel up in the sunglass holder so its easy to reach and use to clean off fingerprints. I use it every couple of days to keep the screen from accumulating to many fingerprints.

LCD/screen cleaning solutions are fine, but I just mist Meg's Quick Interior Detailer on the screen along with the dash, and wipe clean with a microfiber. It works flawlessly. The Meg's product is fine for this type of use...it's not a greasy dressing.
