Clear Bra: Tpex or AeroTech

Clear Bra: Aero Tect
I just waxed my new RX350 and since I was doing it, I also washed my 2006 Nissan Quest, looking at the hood with just 11K miles, I noticed alot of tiny chips on the front of the hood. This concern made me look into clear coat bras.. the two I found are Tpex or Aero Tect, which do you prefer or recommend? The cost to have these installed is about $375-$400, should I spend the funds?
Here is my situation, I rarely own a vehicle pass 100K miles or 5 years, my work requires me to spend about 1200 - 2000 miles per month. Would you make the investment into a clear bra? This is my first Lexus and I think I might keep it for longer than usual as I really like it and looking at Lexus RX series which started out in 1999 still looks great and in style.
Here's what I've own in the past, as you can see, I change every 4-5 years
2002 Pathfinder 66K miles
1997 Maxima 100K miles
1992 Mitsu Eclipse 60K miles
1988 Accord 100K miles

I've heard of Aero Tect and I would recommend this brand. A few of my friends have Aero Tect and they're pretty satisfied w/ the product. Personally, I have Xpel.
Even though most of the distributors, retailers and installers may use a different brand, the material will be of the same form and shape to which it came from. Some may be thinner or thicker than others, but they will perform to it's maximum industry clear bra standards.
400 bones isn't that bad for a clear bra on your car. If you do alot of higway travel, then I would recommend a clear bra. If it's local roads, then don't get it. Most rock chips occur on highways exceeding speeds of 50+ mph. But don't get me wrong, there are some local roads that can do 50mph also. For the most part, most of my rock chips occured from highway driving.
Come to think of it, I'd get it anyways cause it will protect you for those long road trips and you won't have to worry about anything knowing that you have clear bra.
If your RX or Nissan is of a darker color, then go for it cause too many rock chips will expose many white dotted spots and it may cost you even more money to repaint the entire front end later on.
I still have another couple of years before I can take my clear bra off and see what kind of "state of condition" that it has preserved. But for now, it's been great for 3+ years for me.
(see my other thread titled "Zaino...3 years later" for more info).
good luck....teeman3

Just got back from Aero Tect... great people...great company.... took their time putting on the bra.. they offered to let me borrow a loaner car while the bra is installed... great product and I would recommend them. Thanks CL for the discount!!!

It's all worth it!
Funny thing.......prior to having the clear bra installed by Aertotect, my car was a magnet for flying debris and resulted in 2 stone chips on the hood and an obvious nasty chip/scratch on the front bumper from a flying card board. After the installation, nothing seems to want to get close to my car. Isn't that weird?

I ended up just getting the Bra package which covers the hood, mirrors, and fenders, I figured the bumber for my household would not work since all the cars we own, there are light scrapes from touching the side of the garage. Not admitting I did it, but definitely my wife didn't do it , I also added blue tint to my foglamps and smoke on rear reflectors (it show up red but actually it matched my bumber very well)..don't know if it's a good match...but I like it (your opinion is appreciated)...I can always change it.
From the front of the car I can't see the line, from the rear you can notice it:
This one is just for fun, no offense to our femal companions

Nice!
You can't really see the line from the front. One advantage of having a darker colored car is that when the car gets dirty, you can't see the dirt on the bra edges.
I see you got the blue overlays for your foglights. I did too. Francisco suggested I go with "yellow" but I like "blue" better. I just want to be different.
