Has anybody heard about shining. My freind who works at a car wash station tells me that i need my car shined. What he means is that he will buff it with a machine that moves like she would be writing the number 8. Have you heard of this?

he probably uses a dual action polisher like the Porter Cable 7424. and its probably not "shining" per say but polishing all the micromarring/swirls as well as applying glaze and wax.
