How often do you wax?
#18
Like others have said, the dark colors need the wax more often and really show the difference once waxed. I have the Smokey Granite Mica color and did a fully detailing with multiple layers of wax and my orbital buffer.
While it was quite a bit of work, the car looked like it was dipped in wet glass afterwards. So much so that friends kept commenting on it. For a fact it has rained most of the week and the car still looks really clean and shiny.

Since my IS don't park outside often I will take it to wax every three to four months... And last Silver Car (Harrier/RX) I only took it to was three times in two years time... and still look brand new!!

I have a black IS...while probably being overzealous, i wax it with carnauba wax once a mth or so, and with Klasse all-in-one acrylic sealant every 4mths. After a wash, i also apply the Sonus Carnauba Spritz to top up between waxes.

b3, I also have black (obsidian) and my lazy scale is at max! I'll probably pay someone twice a year to wax my car. How does the Carnauba Spritz work for you? In between the waxes , I will just wash the car and put a quick carnauba detailing spray on. If washing my car and spraying the detailer on takes more than an hours, it's too much for me

the spritz works great! very easy to a great result from it. To wash, dry and top up the wax using the spritz takes me around 45mins. For this particular spritz, i think the trick is to use a really high quality microfiber buffing cloth. I bought all of my products from Autopia. Works a treat!

b3dlam,
i will definitely try that one. I figured out that there was a detailing forum also, so I started my "lazy man's wax" thread. I got some other names I will try also, Maguires NXT, something called OCW, and Werkstatt. I'll probably try them all and figure out which one gives me the "mostest for the leastest!"
Thanks!
