Default Does Langka paint chip repair really work?

Not sure if we are allowed to openly discuss a forum sponsor, so if we aren't allowed, sorry.

I read the banner ad and then went to the site for the paint chip repair. http://www.langka.com/

they say that you use your normal touch up paint, but then after 2-24 hours, you use their system to remove the ugly blob that you normally get with touch up paint, and are left with only the paint actually filling in the scratch.

Anyone tried this or a similar system?

I have used it and it works as advertised. Basically it has solvents that allow it to wipe away excess paint. Anything older than 24 hours is completely cured and will not work. You over-build the chip to fill it in allowing for shrinkage as it dries, then allow it to completely dry to the touch. Once dry, you wrap a cloth around a credit card and use the flat edge to remove the excess paint. You end up with a filled chip that's filled level with the surrounding paint.

It's not a perfect repair but it's a whole lot better than looking at white primer or bare metal. Usually there is no way to match factory paint even if you get it from the dealership. Regular paints are a little easier but if you have metallic paint, the repair will be obvious. There are a lot of paint chip repair guys out there and they do a fantastic job. Langka is a quick patch to hide some obvious ugliness.

No worries asking about it, but would suggest you ask in the detailing forum where more folks will have experience (moving your post there)

You can also use the search feature of the forum to check for similar posts (here are a couple of older examples I searched for another member in the past)
