Can you "over" wax or "over " clay bar your car
Due to the parking situation where I live, I tend to havea sprinkler or 2 hit my car at least once a week and leave the hard water marks that do not come off with a simple wash.
Last time I took it to the car wash I had it clay bar-ed and it looked great.
Can you do the clay bar thing as much as needed or is this slowly thinning out the paint?
Thanks for any info.

NO, if you properly clay bar your car you will never thin the paint!
I clay my cars once a month about and wax my cars about once every 2 weeks.
Just make sure you have PLENTY of water with the clay. Keeps the friction down. Claying takes off the grime that is needed before a nice wax can be applied with a perfect end result.
Personally, I prefer http://www.wolfgangcarcare.com/photopost/wg6500.html
for a nice clay, then I wax with Pinacle. SOme prefer Zaino but after my personal experience, Pinacle is the BEST. have fun When I wax, after claying obviously, I wax it the night before. Let it sit over night, then remove the next day.
Absolutly PERFECT end result. oh and by the way, those micro fiber towels will scratch your car. I'd never use. Just use a soft old bath towel to dry, and be sure to use a good no circular buffer with proper pads.

As long as you are claying properly I don't think you can overclay.
You can overwax in my opinion if there are abrasives in the wax or if it is not optically clear in which case more layers often take away the look.
