Default NYC Car Washes

To all the NYCers which car wash do you guys go in the winter for dropped cars? I had a dropped TL on S techs and was able to squeeze into the one on Utopia (hand car wash by Arbys) My SC is lower then my TL and was wondering if there is one that everyone goes to that has lower rails.

Why don't you just go to a hand car wash?

All the hand car washes I know of like the one on Utopia have rails to guide the car through the wash. I don't know of any that have no rails. This is more for the winter since i wash it myself when its warm and the water pipes at home aren't frozen.

I've been there twice. And had a bad experience both times. THere were streaks of dirt on my car after the wash. Plus the last time I was there they forgot to put my car in park and it rolled into the street.

I'd rather bring a hot bucket of water out to wash my own car.

There is a gas station (Hess I think) on the service rd. of the LIE (Westbound) betwn Utopia & 164th St with a Power Washer. $3 for 8 Mins, no car wash tracks, no dirty towels.

Have a nice day.

It's a bit out of the way, but there's a self-serve car wash on Broadway a little west of Steinway St in Queens.

I used to go to Lage car wash on Queens Blvd. near LIE. I've seen dropped Civics in there with no track issues.

Yep, that's the one. You can go get "waxed" at the Goldfingers while the car is being detailed.

Yeah, wanted to kill some time a few times while they worked on the car but instead went to the Burger King next door.

But that's a good car wash but I've only seen maybe 1 or 2 dropped cars there. Not enough to truly recommend for this guy.
