I keep thinking of that AC/DC song, but I have to change the title to- "For those about too Clay" (we salute you!)... Ok..I digress...

Well,

cut it into as many pieces as practical, knead often, and use copious amounts of Q/D or soapy water. The latter being critical.

Not too much pressure also.

Enjoy.

Don't drop it.

Keep the area with enough QD to make sure your clay slides nicely.

Don't forget to wax or use sealant afterwords, because even though clay removes all containments, it does remove all previous waxes and sealants.

knead the clay bar alot.. you need to use the clay bar with the car wet with soapy water so the clay bar glides across the body of the vehicle, keep car wet GOOD LUCK!

QD is the quick detailer of your choice. You can either use soapy water or qd, but I myself prefer using meguiars QD.

Use the clay on your car headlight covers first. The clay should glide freely on the lubricant. Then move to the paint. Clay an area about 2'x2' then run your fingers over the area to see if the roughness has been removed and it feels smooth. Wipe up the lube with microfiber towels than move on to the next area. Kneed the clay when it becomes dirty and continue on.

Once you have clayed the paint go to the glass. Clay will remove a lot of windshield crud. Finally, do the wheels and exhaust tip(s).

I typically cut the bar into thirds and store the two pieces I haven't used in a zip-lock bag. If (when?) you drop the piece of clay you are working with, toss it and grab a fresh piece. I discard the used clay when I've finished as it will be too contaminated to use on your paint again.

Key points:
• Use lots of lubricant so the clay glides freely and don't press too hard.
• Fold and kneed the clay often to keep the contaminants from marring your paint.
• Do small sections at a time, testing your success with your fingers.

Good advice above but I will add that there are some variables. If your paint is not in bad condition to start with then you should be able to use the clay more than once. Just keep folding the clay to use uncontaminated portion and use plenty of lube and it is a pretty easy process that gives fantastic results.

Don't let it drop!
remember to re knead the clay often to prevent scratching.
Start off with a clean, dust free surface or else, you'll drag them across the paint and scratch it.

Ya...all the above soak the area good, clay a small section and dry right away so that you can check your progress. Don't let the soapy stuff sit after you've clay'd. Wax immediately after.
