Very nice work on the wheels, I've done some metal polishing work before and I can tell you first hand that it is very hard work especially when you have to polish by hand..It takes a lot of persistance, patience, and a whole lot of time..

Did you polish via machine or by hand? How many hours did it take you?

That's great work. It's not easy trying to bring something back to life.

Porter Cable or rotary type machine buffer. Usaully the only way you will be able to work in polish good enough in the finish to remove or hide scratches, scrapes, tough waterspots, oxidation, etc is by a Porter Cable or some type of rotary buffer.

He used a PC 7424, which is a dual action random orbital. PC also makes rotary buffers, which are a different animal altogether.

I used a palm sander for for the sandpaper (60 to 2000 grit). I used buffing wheels on a hand drill, with 3 buffing compounds: emery, white and jewler's rouge.

I used Mother's aluminum polish last.

Each wheel took about 5 hours. I did a wheel a day that week.

some PATIENCE u got there man!!! really really GREAT job u did there! i used to like spending time to detail every inch of my cars, everytime i use my cars i would have to clean it before i can cover it, i just got too lazy with it and wash them once a month i have a DD tho'-anyhow this is a great inspiration i would want to this sometime soon, it always amazes me bringing back the true soul of a car-being tired at it will pay it's price in the end! more likely if i do the same thing u did, maybe the cars will sit til' the end of the year! hahaha

It's northside OKC. I saw your car for sale on the ok-speed forum. What do you have now?

I sold both of my Lexus's and bought a Suzuki GSXR1000 and a Suburban

I will be back in the Lex family soon - just had to adjust some finances for my new house.

Car looks great man - you did an awesome job.
