Hey I was just reading good things about a water repellant that seems to be a next generation Rain-X like product. Tha mag article said that it lasts far longer.

Anyone ever use this or know the deal?

Cool

Never heard of it but would try it though. I do swear by Rain-X.

Here is an interesting little article comparing Aquapel to Rain-X. Seems Aquapel lasts longer.
There is a video demo included with the article but I couldn't get it to play

to the contrary,
I found Aquapel did not last as long as Rain-X. I must note that I used it/monitored it last summer and cannot comment if the number of carwashes might have decreased the Aquapel's life expectancy.

However, Aquapel did not cause premature aging and deterioration of my wiper blades like Rain-X did.
