I'd probably reach for some clay first. If you didn't have that maybe try soaking a towel in white vinegar and letting it sit on the glass for a few minutes. If the spots are dried mineral deposits, vinegar should dissolve them.

Ultra fine steel wool works real well for cleaning grit and stains off of glass.

I would try to use a clay bar to remove water spots before using steel wool.
Meguiars and Mother's and Clay magic sells kits you cna use on the paint as well as glass to remove surface contaminants.

Sounds scary but works better. As long as its ultra fine it will clean out the glass better than anything else. Leaves the glass real smooth as well.

Except that if you use steel wool on the driver and passenger side windows of your Lexus you will be removing a permanent water repelling coating.

As a general rule always use the least abrasive product needed to accomplish the task.

Do you guys know if the clay bar will work against water stains from sprinklers on the paint as well? If not, does anyone know what I can use for this?

Thanks

The remnants of the water that dries on your car are mineral deposits. This stuff is pretty hard to remove but I soak a towel in white vinegar and lay it on the deposits for about 10 minutes. Then they come off much easier. After soaking try claying to remove the residue.

Some of the pros over ay Autopia swear that the Mr Clean Magic Eraser will remove stubborn waterspots from glass surfaces. I am going to give it a try on the windshield of my '88 Mark VII tomorrow. There are several other products that supposed to work well. Go to Autopia and do a search on Glass cleaning. There are a lot of useful information there.

Marc, be sure you don't use the magic earser tip submitted by hybridhaul on your paint. I think he might not have read your post carefully.

Also white vinegar will most like remove most of your wax or sealant so you will nee to reapply it.

Vinegar is a very mild acid. It won't damage your paint if you leave it on for longer times. Just keep the towel wet with vinegar. Don't let it dry on the paint.

I don't believe I read the post wrong. He was referring to waterstains on his windshield. I was replying to kickin's post....not Marcs

Try this link at autopia for several professional solutions
