Default Best way to detail 95 GS300?

A lady in my neighborhood wants me to detail her 95 gs300 before she gives it to her daughter. (carpets shampooed and everything.) I've never really done that before. I can wash, polish, and wax really well, and clean up the interior, but how do i shampoo carpets, what do i need, and what a good way to get all the gunk off the shifter area (plastic piece?)

thanks

The best thing? Take your time.

I've rushed a detail job and it isn't pretty.

Make sure you get a bunch of smaller brushes for the really stupidly cramped nooks and crannies in the car. It'll help a lot

Get a vaccuum too. That'll help you a ton! Not a pansy one, but a industrial shop vac.

If it were me, I'd also look up instructions on how to take small things off like wood trim so I could polish it from the inside out and scrape out all the gunk, should be easy on an older car like that 95' GS.

Another thing, when you're waxing, open up the doors / hood / trunk. That gives you a much deeper shine as it'll come around the edges. It's the difference between a B- and a A+.

And once again, set aside time, do not rush, you will forget. When you think of another cool way to clean, just write it down on a notepad so you dont rush yourself. This helps a lot if you're serious about detailing (and you have a.d.d. )
