Default Turtle Wax Bug & Tar Remover

Is it OK to regularly use the Turtle Wax Bug and Tar Remover when washing the LS (I wash my car 1-2 times per week)?

I would wash it off with soap and water. I would think it could take off your wax, but not eat your paint. I also wouldn't use it in the sun. Are you taking off tar, or bugs? For bugs, you can use a bug sponge. You can buy them at most auto parts stores, or Wal-Mart. I use it on my front bumper and windshield.

Usually it is just bugs. I never heard of a bug sponge before. Have you ever had any scratches with it? Thanks!

No scratches with it using warm soap and water. It's kind of like a teflon sponge you would use in the kitchen. It's not a coarse, but looks like it.
You should be able to purchase one at an auto parts store or discount store.
I've only used the bug and tar cleaner for tar removal and waxed after using it.

You can go to this web site and click on the bug sponge. That way you can get an idea what it looks like.

In the warmer months when the bug smorgasboard is baked on, I use 1Z insect remover. Apply in shade, let sit for 5-10 then squirt it off. It removes about 90% of the critters. Those remaining by then are easily removed by the regular wash solution. It works especially well on the blood/guts and yellow doo-doo's. Tar it doesn't touch.

Thinking about a similar bug issue. One of my buddies who was a long haul trucker gave us a bug solution he picked up at the truck stops. It didn't take much and it wiped off streak free regardless what you used: cloth towel, paper towel, napkin...I only remember it was a purple colored solution.
