Well I've read a few times on the forum a neat little trick to liven up the interior easily, but I doubt that it's well known to all. SO, as our SCs age, our wood trim starts to fade and such. FEAR NOT!

Hit your wood grain with a little rubbing compound, give it some elbow grease, buff it away. Then hit it with some plastic polish (or even just Scratch Out) and give it a little more elbow grease. Then sit back and enjoy your results.

I just did it on my car for the first after reading it earlier in a thread, man the wood trim looks factory new, and it really shines! It seriously made my interior look so much different, just by having new looking wood! So do it, it takes 5 minutes!!



edit: I am going to try this rubbing compound trick on other plastic surfaces interior wise as well, such as: vents, stereo facade, shift bezel, gauge cluster bezel, light lenses etc. I'll update you guys with the results!

I didn't take the trim off of the dash, and from what I read its a really involved process and takes quite a while. You have to remove the top part of the dash, etc. I just buffed it while the trim was still in place. If you look close, you can see some polish on the dash just by the center vent

When I paint, I won't remove it from the car. I will just mask everything off and spray it.

This is something that is definitely on my to-do list.
Looks good. From all the pictures i've seen of the members who did this, the trim pieces seem to lack luster. Anyway to prevent this?
