Guy your going to laugh but I heard what i thought was a old wife tale...
Have you tried toothpaste.
I used a small amount of tooth paste on a slightly damp piece of tissue and rub the lens although my lens was fade and not scratched it brought it back to new.
My friend and I look in amazement we really thought it would not work,,
Going give your lens a try...

How did you work the paste in. I used a damp wash cloth to spread followed by wet wash cloth to rinse them off some. Do not let it dry completely. Wiped off with a bath towel until all was removed. When I used a little compound the lens became very squeakie when I wiped the lens off. Was a very clean sound. I used it on my daugther in laws 2002 Isuzu and got the same results. Is your lens glass or plastic material?

I had decided to try this product called Blue Magic Lens Sealer. The problem for me is when I polish my lights, it'll only looks good for just a couple of months. It's going on two months now since I applied the product and my headlights still look pretty good. I'll make sure to apply this on my new retrofit headlights when they arrive.

I'm surprised how surprised people are that PlastiX works... of course it works. It's an abrasive polish. Any compound/ polish combo will work even better for the simple fact that the compound will do most of the haze removal and the polish will bring out the gloss and help remove any haze left over from the compound.
What sucks is that it will turn yellow again pretty quickly since odds are, it's bare, unprotected plastic at this point if it was yellow or faded to begin with.

Watched this on youtube several weeks ago. This guy has made a punch of vids on car care, and this one on restoring headlights seems to be a good explanation of the process. After the correct order of by hand sanding, I think applying compound with the orbital or rotary sander is critical for the best results. It's all in the video...

Absolutely foolish not to tape off the paint surrounding the headlight, IME. Once you go through the paint it gets pretty expensive to repair.
Further, there needs to be some consideration to re-applying UV protection when finished or your headlights will yellow again very quickly.
