wax on fresh paint
My car is in the body shop getting some work done [full story on why found in the canada section]. I just super cleaned and waxed my IS less than a month ago.
Car is going to have to be partially painted so I'll need to re-wax that saection. My question is: do you guys have any advice or warnings for waxing a freshly painted car?

You'll have to ask them if they bake it or not. If baked, they get an 80% cure that day, and a week should suffice before wax. If it's not baked, you'll need to wait about a month to be safe.
Be patient, wax is good, but it's not a panacea against everything anyway. You can apply a body shop safe glaze such as Meguiar's #7, and use a quick detailer (without wax in it) daily if you like, in order to keep the new finish pristine.
Good luck.

I would be carefull with any product that has silicone in it. Check the fine print on the package of anything that you intend to use. Most wax manufacturers etc recommend a minimum period between painting and the first time you wax/polish
